Anteaters, Jaguars and Giant Otters: Phillip & Justine’s Wild Brazil Adventure
When German travelers Phillip and Justine planned their holiday in Brazil, they chose just two destinations: the world-famous archipelago of Fernando de Noronha and the incomparable Pantanal. Their goal was simple: experience some of Brazil’s most iconic wildlife in a short but memorable journey.
Our adventure began with one night at Piuval Lodge, one of the best locations in the northern Pantanal for spotting giant anteaters. Despite having only a few days available, nature was generous. We enjoyed excellent encounters with the magnificent giant anteater, one of South America’s most fascinating mammals.
The following two nights were spent at Pousada Porto Jofre, the gateway to the famous Jaguar Kingdom along the Cuiabá River. Our boat safaris rewarded us with unforgettable sightings of jaguars in their natural habitat, offering incredible photographic opportunities and memorable wildlife moments.
Adding to the excitement, we also encountered playful giant otters, one of the Pantanal’s most charismatic species. Watching these social predators interact along the riverbanks was a highlight of the trip.
In just four days and three nights, Phillip and Justine experienced some of the very best wildlife the Pantanal has to offer: jaguars, giant anteaters, giant otters, and the breathtaking landscapes that make this wetland one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations.
A short trip, but one filled with extraordinary encounters and memories that will last a lifetime.
